Despite what big companies advertise, castile soap (a.k.a. the most gentle soap for your skin and hair) is made using only olive oil and a lye solution. I wanted to spice it up a bit for this bar, so I snuck in some coconut oil for hardness and shea butter for its creamy lather, but it is still super gentle and leaves your skin slightly moisturized. This batch is scented with sandalwood and contains swirls of sandalwood powder. My curls enjoy this bar (because I always get compliments on shampoo days), but rinsing with diluted apple cider vinegar is recommended (especially if you have hard water) followed by my #ArtistsOnly Conditioner Bars.
Each bar weighs approximately 5 ounces.

Yes. All homemade soap uses lye to turn butters and oils into soap. Is there any lye in the finished product? Nope…just saponified oils and love. As each bar was hand-poured, no two bars will look alike. These guys were swirled and poured with hella love.
