Herbs+Love Hair Soap Bar (UNSCENTED)

Herbs+Love Hair Soap Bar (UNSCENTED)

My library is full of books about plants and natural ways to heal the body, so I wanted to play with some herbs commonly used for the hair and scalp. While other bars in the store are designed for the hair and the body, I was really only thinking about hair for this recipe (but of course you can still use it on your body). And while the FDA hasn’t approved anything I am about to say, these herbs were selected based on their typical uses in eastern and holistic medicine. I can’t prove that all the reported benefits survive the soap-making process, but my intention was to spread love to your hair and scalp the way my research has taught me to. Ingredients matter. This recipe includes saponified Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Mango Seed Butter, Castor Oil, and Argan Oil, and the tea used to make this bar includes Fo-ti root, Bhringraj, Stinging Nettle, Korean Ginseng, American Ginseng, and Horsetail. These herbs have been used for centuries to promote hair growth and a healthy scalp, and I am proud to bring you a product containing all this love.

Some hair doesn’t appreciate homemade soap (especially if you have hard water), but my hair always feels clean and manageable after these suds. I recommend rinsing with diluted apple cider vinegar after shampooing and finishing with my #ArtistsOnly Conditioner Bars. I took shower selfies after using this bar for the first time because I loved how clean and shiny my hair felt…and I am happy to slide those in your DMs upon request…lol…

Each bar weighs approximately 3.5oz.

Yes. All homemade soap uses lye to turn seed butters and oils into soap. Is there any lye in the finished product? Nope, just saponified oils and love. As each bar was hand-poured, no two bars will look alike. This bar is not visually appealing at all but where else can you find shampoo containing all this good stuff? Triphala tea, for example, is great for you but it tastes and looks like shit. This shampoo bar is my version of Triphala tea. My curls enjoy this love, but my curls don’t discriminate based on appearances…only ingredients…because it is what’s on the inside that matters most…
