Yes. All homemade soap uses lye to turn seed butters and oils into soap. Is there any lye in the finished product? Nope, just saponified oils and love. As each bar was hand-poured, no two bars will look alike. This bar is not visually appealing at all but where else can you find shampoo containing all this good stuff? Triphala tea, for example, is great for you but it tastes and looks like shit. This shampoo bar is my version of Triphala tea. My curls enjoy this love, but my curls don’t discriminate based on appearances…only ingredients…because it is what’s on the inside that matters most…
